Managed Repair Clause
D’Orsa and Associates, LLC Public Adjusters cannot stress enough and reiterate to policyholders to review their insurance policy to determine if they have the “managed repair”, “right to repair”, or “concierge” clause in their policy. The clause may also be referred to or disguised as a discount in the premium. Believe us, managed repair clauses are not discounts. Our public adjusters call them “headache” clauses! If you have the managed repair or preferred vendor endorsement in your policy, change your policy immediately. Reference our previous post regarding these horrible endorsements. Please read our post at:
Contact your local insurance agent and have them remove the discount and endorsement clause from your policy. And if you did not choose or know you had the preferred contractor clause, while you are speaking with your local insurance agent, you might want to ask them why they did not inform you that you had the clause aka discount, as well as all the ramifications of the managed repair clause. You may even consider shopping around for an insurance agent who will explain all aspects of your insurance policy to you. Keep in mind, your insurance policy is a contract between you and the insurance company. If you do not follow the terms of the policy you will be in breach of contract. You need to understand what you are paying for. Now is the time to review your policy before there is another named storm possibly affecting Florida.
